Summary

This is a brief summary for Team APICEM from Taiwan.
This year we improve as following:
1.Hardware
1.1 We now use double-sided dropper to reduce the time on throwing rescue kits.
Also, we move the dropper from bottom to top and change the position of the dropper motor.
1.2 To prevent rolling over of the robot when going down the ramp, we reduce the height of the robot and make the center of gravity lower.
(height:-1.5centimeters , width:+2centimeters)
2.Software
2.1 We use OpenCV to solve the new color victim problems. We transform the data
type of the image from BGR to HSV first. Then we will check if it is a color victim.
If the saturation and value(brightness) isn’t in range, we would consider it as an
visual victim(HSU).
2.2 After transforming the data type to HSV, we can recognize colors much easier. Because HSV has only one value “Hue” to display the color of the pixel. Also, we use gray scale, Gaussian Blur, and Binarizing in order to reduce noise and confirm the size.

About this virtual event

Virtual Presentation Event

RCJ Rescue would like to hold a virtual presentation event to have some conclusion to the 2020 RoboCupJunior year for rescue Line and rescue Maze. The idea of this virtual event is to have a formal opportunity for teams present their excellent work within the RCJ rescue community in a condensed form, and to have some sense of closure to the year.

Participating teams will create a video about their progress and work, which will be made available for other teams to host discussions and gain inspiration for the future.

While awards cannot be issued by the RoboCup Federation, teams participating will be recognised by the RCJ Rescue TC/OC committees and a range of awards will be given for outstanding presentations.
