Summary

In this video, we will show you some of the work done for Robocup Rescue 2020. First, we'll talk about the robot construction. Something we focused a lot on at this stage was building an efficient and sturdy claw.
For the construction of the robot we used 3D printed parts, laser cut acrylic parts, LCD display, LEGO components, Gyroscope, ultrasonic sensor, motors and more. In order to facilitate the maintenance of so many components, the construction of the robot was divided in modules.
The line follower board was built manually. We tested different sensors and layouts until we get to the current result.
The construction of the claw also required a lot of effort. The previous models were efficient, but not very resistant or too large. Major changes were made until we achieved the current result, a stronger, more compact and efficient claw.
Our code is organized in several tabs. A tab is created for the functions of each component and also for specific routines, such as ramp climbing. Finally, in the rescue strategy, we schematize the area into a matrix. Thereby, we were able to divide the area into small blocks. We can record information about each block.

About this virtual event

Virtual Presentation Event

RCJ Rescue would like to hold a virtual presentation event to have some conclusion to the 2020 RoboCupJunior year for rescue Line and rescue Maze. The idea of this virtual event is to have a formal opportunity for teams present their excellent work within the RCJ rescue community in a condensed form, and to have some sense of closure to the year.

Participating teams will create a video about their progress and work, which will be made available for other teams to host discussions and gain inspiration for the future.

While awards cannot be issued by the RoboCup Federation, teams participating will be recognised by the RCJ Rescue TC/OC committees and a range of awards will be given for outstanding presentations.
